A 50-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home in Khmelnytskyi region, after police say a 49-year-old man attacked her with a knife. Police received the report on 30 October at about 1:30 a.m. Officers found the woman dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds. A 29-year-old man who was also present suffered serious injuries and was taken to intensive care. Investigators allege that the suspect went to the woman’s home in the Cheremeretska community after coming there to meet his former partner. During an argument, he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed both the woman and her acquaintance. The suspect left the knife at the scene and fled. Police located him within a few hours, with the man hiding at his own home in a neighboring village. Officers detained him under Article 208 of Ukraine’s Criminal Procedure Code. Prosecutors opened a criminal case for intentional homicide under Part 1 of Article 115 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. The man was served a notice of suspicion.
